This policy is drafted in accordance with Quebec\u2019s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).<\/p>\n<h3>2. Definitions<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Personal information<\/strong>: any information concerning a natural person that allows that person to be identified, directly or indirectly, including their name, address, email address, telephone number, payment information and any browsing data associated with them. Information about your health, including the information in your optometric file, is sensitive personal information.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Personal information collected<\/h3>\n<p>We may collect the following categories of information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>contact details: name, address, email address, telephone number, date of birth;<\/li>\n<li>health information needed for your care (history, examination results, prescriptions) and, during an appointment, your health insurance number;<\/li>\n<li>the username and password for your online customer account;<\/li>\n<li>billing and payment information;<\/li>\n<li>information you voluntarily provide through a form (quote or information request, description of your project) or when communicating with us;<\/li>\n<li>information related to a job application: r\u00e9sum\u00e9, experience, education and any other information you choose to send us;<\/li>\n<li>browsing data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, visit duration, collected in particular through cookies and analytics tools;<\/li>\n<li>marketing communication preferences, where applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>4. Purposes of collection<\/h3>\n<p>The personal information collected is used for the following purposes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to provide, operate and improve our products and services;<\/li>\n<li>to create and update your customer and optometric file;<\/li>\n<li>to book and manage your appointments with our professionals;<\/li>\n<li>to process your online orders, their payment and delivery, and manage your customer account;<\/li>\n<li>to manage your participation in the rewards program, if you join it;<\/li>\n<li>to assess applications received as part of our hiring process;<\/li>\n<li>to communicate with you and respond to your requests;<\/li>\n<li>to send you promotional communications, if you have consented to receive them;<\/li>\n<li>to ensure the security of the Site and prevent fraud;<\/li>\n<li>to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>5. Consent<\/h3>\n<p>We obtain your express consent where required by law, in particular for sending promotional communications or processing sensitive information. The information in your optometric file is also protected by the professional secrecy that binds our optometrists and opticians.<\/p>\n<p>If you join the Optop rewards program, the information you provide to this independent company is governed by its own privacy policy, available at <a href=\"https:\/\/optop.ca\/politique\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">optop.ca\/politique<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>7. Transfer of personal information outside Quebec<\/h3>\n<p>Some of the providers and tools we use, including our Google tools (Analytics, Ads) and possibly our cloud hosting provider, may store or process personal information outside Quebec, including elsewhere in Canada and in the United States. Before making such a transfer, we conduct a privacy impact assessment to ensure that the information receives adequate protection.<\/p>\n<h3>8. Retention and destruction of information<\/h3>\n<p>We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or to meet our legal, accounting or tax obligations.
