At Eye Am, more than 60% of our frames are created by independent designers and workshops rather than by industrial manufacturers. Our frames combine aesthetics and comfort because we work with partners who are committed to the quality of their products.

We have organized the Featuring the Designers event to allow you to discover three exclusive collections: Piero Massaro, La petite lunette rouge, and Clément Lunetier.

For the occasion, all three collections will be brought together in the same store. You will be able to try on more than 200 models. A $100 discount* will be applied on the purchase of complete eyeglasses from one of these three collections.

Of Sicilian origin, Italian designer Piero Massaro draws his inspiration from the world of art and design. His original frames are made and designed as true handcraft with numbered limited-edition models. The originality of the frames stems from the colours and the colour compositions, whose effects are sometimes surprising!

The designer creates numerous frames in collaboration with Italian and foreign artists. From these associations arise new collections with subtle combinations that spotlight both colour and shapes. In 2014, at the salon mondial de l’optique in Paris, Piero Massaro was nominated for the Silmo d’Or award, receiving the Prix special du Jury for his PM415 frames. He also won the 2020 Japan Eyewear Award in the Ladies’ Eyewear category.
MATERIAL: Natural cotton-based acetate

 

 

Designed and “Handmade” in France, LPLR Eyewear (which stands for “La petite lunette rouge”) was born out of the meeting between designer Alison Hemmes and brand founder Hilarhi Arcade. The name “La petite lunette rouge” comes from the brand logo, created by Alison before the first eyeglasses.

Behind anagrams that hide their true identities to focus on their creations, Alison and Hilarhi like to play with the provocative spirit of contemporary art. Boldness is the driving force behind their quest for singularity and modernism. “When it comes to eyeglass creation, everything has already been done and we need to revisit the past to create the future,” Hilarhi says. Thus, the basis of their work revolves around the 80s.

Each frame features the brand’s signature narrow double-bridge, a nod to the clip-on sunglasses of that decade. Initially, the top bar was only in red, but it now boasts a variety of shades.

Clément Lunetier is a unique French brand, designed by two optical designers who are passionate about creation. Weary of traditional eyewear and big brands, they wanted to design and manufacture iconoclastic models without compromising on elegance or on their values. Clément Lunetier was thus born after much exchange around the passion of eyewear and the fascination of creation. These glasses are designed for each individual.

Each frame is an unprecedented marriage of original materials (wood, metal, etc.), and handmade at the heart of the Strasbourg workshop with the requirement of a job well done as a guiding principle. The result? Light-weight glasses, designed to follow the lines and curves of the face, respecting the materials used, and crafted for total comfort. Each model is unique, meaningful, aesthetic, and original.
